Post Covid, the number of athletes, coaches & volunteers engaged with sport here in Ireland has significantly declined.

AnamoLABS's interest in movement and personal mobility provided us with the opportunity to get involved. Following consultation with a number of organizations and gyms we designed and promoted a program on a pro bono basis called "Everybody Move".

This program was trialed with athletes having an intellectual disability at the OBODO Gyn, Douglas Rd., Cork.

After three sessions we organized an 'OPEN DAY' and encouraged athletes from Special Olympics Ireland to attend. Within less than 24 hours this event was fully book.   These events have now continued with great success since November last.  More recently, they now are catering for adults with a disability from Mallow and also from COPE Foundations Day Centre at th North Mall, Cork.

Feedback and individual interviews with those who attended Everybody Move sessions confirmed to us that there was an appetite for these events.

The benefits of visiting a gym with friends go beyond physical fitness for people with a disability.

Exercising with friends makes it more enjoyable and fun.

They provide motivation and enhance social connections, reduce isolation, provide emotional support, and build confidence. Additionally, they promote the learning of new skills, improving posture and developing healthy habits which all contribute to improving well-being and quality of life.

At Everybody Move, we are very grateful to Chris & Lucy Kenefick and their coaching team for giving us access to their innovative Revelate Fitness system at their OBODO Gym in Douglas, Cork.

We extend every best wish for their continuing success as they reach out to a more regional audience in the weeks and months to come.  At Everybody Move

Where to Next ?

At Everybody Move, we are continuing to learn from the goodwill shown and imagination of individuals and groups who understand the true meaning of 'INCLUSION'.  In our own small way, we will continue to see how we might help and / or promote future inclusive events  especially for people with special needs.  >>> here
